Essential Job Functions:
Planning for Classroom Instruction
- Create weekly lesson plans and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child’s development in their care. Upload lesson plans for each week by the Thursday before on HiMama.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
Teaching Classroom Lessons
- Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
- Perform ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required
- Assist in the evaluation process of all students at the Academy
Home Care
- Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers with the direction and approval of the ELA Director
- Ensure that each family receives an opportunity to build strong relationships with teaching staff
- Plan periodical parent conferences to discuss children’s developmental progress, needs and interests
Five Star Life Care
- Account for cleaning, setup, closeout, and daily procedure checklist standards
- Maintain a level of tour-readiness and a high bar of organization, cleanliness, and Five Star Care at all times both in personal classroom and in the common areas of the ELA.
ELA Enrollment and Marketing
- Responsible to set and work toward enrollment growth goals with clear checkpoints to grow the ELA
- Responsible to work under the Director of the ELA in order to drive the growth of ELA enrollment
- Develop creative ways to incentivise and to market/promote the ELA
- Drive enrollment utilizing strong community network connections
ELA Teacher Recruitment
- Responsible to build the ELA teacher team with staff and volunteers as enrollment requires
- Responsible for new staff and volunteer training and orientation
- Drive recruitment utilizing strong community network connections
Other Duties as Determined by The Business Office
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Two years of teaching experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child
- Prepared to pass a criminal background check
- Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
- Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities
- Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority
